ZUVERLÄSSIGKEIT
Das Laufey wurde für viel Action entworfen. Ohne die Gewichtsersparnis beim Rahmen zu vernachlässigen, zielten die Entwickler auf zusätzliche Haltbarkeit bei einem Rad, das stark strapaziert wird. Gestauchte Hydroforming-Rohre führen zur benötigten Widerstandsfähigkeit.
HYDROFORMING
Bedeutet die Manupulation der Formen und Stärken der Alurohre, um höhere Festigkeit und mehr Widerstand zu erreichen und gleichzeitig unerwünschte Verformung zu vermeiden. Viele der Rohre sind in der Mitte, weit weg von den Belastungen der Schweißnähte und Verbindungen, gestaucht, um eine Gewichtsreduzierung zu erzielen. Die Aluminiumtechnologie ist ebenso hochentwickelt wie die Carbon-Herstellung, weshalb die Orbea Alubikes immer zu den Leistungsfähigsten gehören.
GESCHWEISSTES KETTENSTREBENJOCH
Um einen maximalen Reifenstand und höchste Festigkeit zu erreichen, wurde ein eigenes geschweißtes Kettenstrebenjoch mit CNC-Endbearbeitung entwickelt, das genaueste Spezifikationen sicherstellt. Es handelt sich dabei um keine neue Technologie, aber um eine kostenintensivere.
